I think that coloring is still my favorite. Last week, after a super fun strength and cardio class and a yummy Sunday breakfast, I worked on some designs I have had sketched out for a while in my sketch book. I draw them on shrink film with pens, and color them prismas. I love the blending I can do, and the colors are so vibrant! I love working with shrink film (yep, good old school shrinky dinks) because I can put my own illustrations and drawings on them and create multi-piece, totally fun, Jenny T. jewelry masterpieces!
( Here are some of the pieces I have for sale in my shop right now: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JennyTDesign?page=2 )
I love them. They are tedious and frustrating and take a ton of experimentation and sometimes they get ruined just when you think you’ve got it figured out! But that moment I pull them out of the oven and they are shrunken perfection is worth all the frustration in the world! Well, maybe. But, still, look how cute!
These are going to be earrings and a necklace. They have not been heated yet. I am excited to see how they turn out! I hope I don’t have a reccourance of “The Great Shrinky Dink Disaster of ’14” I will never forget that day…alright, it wasn’t that bad.
In addition to prepping a bunch of canvases in my studio…okay, it’s my back porch…
I have also been working on some custom projects: Sketching out a wood burned pendulum clock, (you can find those clocks here:https://www.etsy.com/listing/60665992/made-to-order-custom-pendulum-clock ) a canvas painting-poem for a end of the year teacher gift and a canvas that will be included a local celebration and fundraiser for scholarships at the local community collage.
I am also working on some small clocks I am making with some prints from a favorite canvas collage clock I couldn’t part with! I have been adding cute edges and fun colors:
Here are some of the clocks, and my little sweetie who came to see what I am working on..
I have decided to put some of my wall art on this site, too. Check out my gallery here: http://www.foundmyself.com/Jenny+T
And in other news, Henry made us amazing fruit parfaits, mastered his multiplication and is entered in the Whiskey Row Marathon 1.9 miles ( but may do the 10 K ) and is endlessly cracking us up with his crazy antics. Ruby is just as sweet as can be, was Student of the Week, aced her spelling test and lost 2 teeth!
Hope you all had a wonderful week. Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful weekend!
