I am having so much fun teaching workshops to amazing groups of people! We have been making trees, painting with watercolors, creating beautiful reflective word art pieces…all of the projects I offer in my workshops are fun, laid back and I have designed them to encourage you to find your own unique style of making art and rediscover your creative vibe! I offer to host small groups of up to 8 participants in my home in other facilities or homes. They are so fun, intimate, relaxing and unique. Designed to help you nurture your heart, art and soul! I also offer private art lessons. Contact me for any questions or to book your workshop!
New Work:
I have been making lots of stump art-wood burned, painted inspirational little (or bigger) keepsakes that read uplifting, empowering or just sweet little sayings. They are sweet, special gifts that are unique, one of a kind and a gift from nature. Most of the wood I use in stump art are trimmed branches that are laid out for pick up or from broken branches I find around my neighborhood.
One of my favorite branch finding stories is from an alligator juniper that was sadly cut down because it interfered with the wires above. I was heartbroken and in tears when they started cutting it down! I asked my sweet husband to rescue as many pieces as possible before they went into the wood chipper, and he did. I feel like making art from these precious trees gives them a chance to live on!
Sticks and Stones:
In addition to the continuing stump art, I am using beautiful, special small pieces of wood that I find on walks and hikes throughout our neighborhood here in the pines for interesting jewelry that combines simple raw nature with sterling silver assembly, sparkly, meaningful gemstones and occasionally some funky metal gears. I just love the juxtaposition of these very different elements. It lends itself to very unique and interesting pieces of jewelry! As always, hand written description cards to tell the tiny story of each special piece.
The Prescott Farmers Market 20 Year Anniversary:
The Prescott Farmers Market is celebrating their 20 year anniversary! They held a t-shirt design contest and I submitted my design after several people suggested it to me…plus, I can’t TELL you how much I love to draw, paint and make jewelry with veggies and flowers as my subject so it was right up my alley. When I was first writing this newsletter I had just submitted it, then I was one of the top 3 finalists, then I won!
I am so touched and honored by everyone who encouraged me and to those of you who voted for me! I will keep you updated for the dates the 20th Anniversary swag will be available!
